A weekly shortlist for people trying to keep up
I’ve publishing content here on PersonalizeCX for years about experience strategy, personalization, and lately about how AI is transforming both.
I am excited to announce that I started writing a weekly newsletter called The Catalog, and the first issue went out today.
These days it feels like everything is moving at hyperspeed. There’s more content being produced and less certainty than at any point I can remember. Finding information is no longer the hard part, but it’s difficult to decide what deserves attention.
As I advise brands on AI and experience strategy, I read constantly but never had a good place to capture what I found. So I built one. On Fridays, I’ll share a shortlist of signals worth paying attention to, new tools and perspectives on what I’m actually using, and one feature.
What’s in it
Three sections, every Friday.
- New Arrivals is the shortlist. Four or five things worth knowing about, each with enough context to decide whether it matters to you.
- The Feature is one piece at length. Sometimes original, sometimes something I published elsewhere that deserves a second life.
- Field Notes is what I’m seeing from the field and what I make of it.
The whole thing is built to be read in the time it takes to finish a coffee.
Issue 001 is out now
The first issue covers a virtual Blockbuster you can browse by streaming service, a billion people using Gemini with 63% of them talking instead of typing, Anthropic watermarking its text output, and Meta pausing a program that logged employee keystrokes to train its AI agents.
The feature is a piece I wrote at Sitecore in June on the AI-influenced traveler. The number that stuck with me: Cloudflare tracks pages an engine scrapes against visitors it sends back. Google was 2:1 a decade ago and sits near 18:1 today. OpenAI is estimated at 1,500:1. Anthropic at 6,000:1.
